Broccoli Buddy

Autism Spectrum Disorder Project

A sensory plush toy developed through observation at Cooke School, a learning environment for children with autism spectrum disorder. After visiting the classrooms and interacting with students and teachers, I identified key needs, including emotional expression and visual routines. Inspired by these insights, I designed Broccoli Buddy to be a non-stigmatizing and emotionally supportive toy that encourages tactile play and caregiver bonding. Its weighted bottom and soft, textured fabrics provide grounding comfort and sensory input, while its playful broccoli form invites imaginative interaction in both home and therapeutic settings.
